Description & Requirements

Job Description
Hands-on Automation Engineers of all levels up to Test Lead required for a leading consultancy in the Central Belt. You will need to visit clients in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The Company

This company is incredibly supportive, ensuring that there is a specialised team around its staff at all times. They have recently implemented a huge Learning and Development programme and have dedicated career coaches, who you will be able to access regularly.

I have genuinely never come across a company with such a solid plan and investment towards employee learning - truly a rare opportunity!

They have a range of clients, from the financial sector through to technology companies, with enough variety that every day is different.

The Role

As the company grows, it is clear that they need to bring on dedicated Automation Engineers to help deliver automated strategies and implementation (everything from Mergers to Digital Transformations to Mobile Platforms) across their client base.

The core of the role is working with different organisations to ensure that the automation practice put in place is implemented to the highest possible standard by you and various other Automation Engineers.

Day to day, you'll be creating automation tests from scratch, working with a variety of different automation tools (and often suggesting the best ones to use) in a client-facing role.

You will be hands-on, tasked with creating and maintaining automation test scripts from scratch. You'll be a strong coder for automation testing, and ideally have created automation frameworks from scratch.

You'll be a problem-solver - in the real sense of the phrase - working with clients to understand issues, and implement automation testing practices to solve this.

Communication is key, as with most roles, but arguably even more so here. You need to be the representative of the company, working closely with stakeholders and various technical people. Passion is also important - you'll be a champion for automated testing, and be committed to bringing new ideas and perspectives to improve the automation testing.

You'll have experience with most of the following tools/tech:

** Creating automation frameworks (would be advantageous) ** Selenium and Cucumber ** Java or any other language used to create automated test scripts ** Be a champion for testing, and an active voice ** Mentoring/leading Automation Engineers (for more senior roles) ** Demonstrable experience creating large scale automation strategies and plans in place ** CI/CD, Jenkins, Maven, TFS

Salary and Location

Centrally based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, the team's offices are easily accessible via public transport, with bus routes and train stations close by. You will have your choice of which office to base yourself out of - whatever works for you, however it's important to note you will mostly be based on client site!

The company's clients in both Edinburgh and Glasgow are centrally based, and the team will do their best to set you up in whichever city works best, although you will need to go to Edinburgh for training.

Along with a generous salary, £35,000 - £55,000, the company also offer an incredibly strong benefits package. Along with the usual perks, the company offer a strong career development plan (mentioned above) along with a training budget.

With not only one, but two potential bonuses, both an individual bonus (5-10%) and a company bonus (4-5%), your yearly earnings can be boosted substantially.

One of the more unique things the company offer is access to a financial advisor for free, who can advise on pensions, mortgages etc. and you have the option to set up your own pension through the advisor who will help you manage it.

If this role sounds like you, please do give apply and/or get in touch with Erin Donnelly at Cathcart Associates.
