Job Description
An established developer of real time passenger information systems is presently seeking a proven design, development and testing technician for its hardware team.

The Position:

This is a highly varied role that would perfectly suit someone with an interest and experience in electronics, hardware, embedded software, system processes and problem solving. Key responsibilities will include:

* The design, development and testing of electronic equipment

* Repairing PCBs to component level

* PCB and system design, integration and prototyping

* QA testing and validation

* Producing schematics and other relevant technical documentation

* Input into product development to enhance robustness, performance and reliability

* Investigating and resolving issues from a component to system level

* Providing customer support to resolve issue and deliver improvements

The Candidate:

The successful applicant will be proactive and customer-centric individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to demonstrate:

* A minimum HNC/HND qualification (preferably degree) in electrical or electronic engineering (or equivalent)

* Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics

* Hands-on design and development experience within an electronics environment

* EMC compliance knowledge

* Experience of TFT/LED displays, touchscreen HMIs and vehicle tracking systems

* (Ideally) knowledge of Linux embedded software

* An appreciation of automotive electrics

* (Ideally) experience using KiCad or DesignSpark PCB

* Good communication skills with colleagues and customers

* An ability to work effectively under pressure, both internally and in the field (as required)
