As part of the Client Technology Delivery team, a Platforms & Development Manager is required to join a leading organisation in their industry. The successful candidate will take ownership of the software development team where you will be responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders within the business to ensure effective delivery of applications with the goal of creating re-usable platforms for our Clients; thereby enabling ongoing business development through optimised cost-to-serve operational solutions. The Platforms & Development Manager will be exposed to exciting and cutting-edge technologies and projects and over time we will seek to include capability such as AI and data analytics in our platforms.
* Build and manage a team of high-performing software developer professionals * Lead and coach the agile and collaborative approaches to delivery and continuous improvement and delivery cultures within software development * Act as technology Product Owner for the Client enabling platforms of the business * Maximise ROI from purchased software learning how to use properly through participation in user groups and learning; thereby focusing internal development on value-add and integration * Develop a software and delivery strategy for clients to consume appropriate technology at their premises (e.g. API and Cloud models) for @Client resourcing opportunities to increase Huntswood perceived value * Enable and drive the wider team to be more self-organising and cross-functional * Act as a guide and mentor for team members and take responsibility for the delivery of the team’s output, provide direction and evangelise Secure Agile SDLC practices and methodologies * Pro-actively contribute to the Client Technology department’s processes for change quality, productivity and pace * Oversee the packaging of software change releases to the right and repeatable quality * Work with project sponsors and their teams to define the relevant User Stories and Quality/Test approaches * Continue to review and improve the solution platforms and software development offerings or knowledge base allowing issues to be fixed in a timely fashion and minimising client downtime * Document and enforce software development standards to enable the provision of products and services with more efficiency, lower risk and reduced customer impact * Identify opportunities to improve overall performance through training or technical enhancements, and automation of processes * Track adherence to Technology Policies, Processes & Procedures to ensure changes conform and where risks or quality gaps exist, notify the respective Technology Management stakeholder * Following Huntswood’s change management process for software installations, upgrades and patching in the Client Technology context * Train and mentor resources with regards to software engineering, APIs, error handling and other skills that are often learned through experience
