Job Description
PMO Director with a strong project or programme management experience within a software delivery environment required by a global organisation in Colchester as part of a large-scale recruitment drive which has seen their R&D department double in size. The organisation are now seeking an experienced PMO Director to lead a team of five project managers to ensure they are using the best practices to deliver projects successfully to their global clients. As a trailblazer and market leader in their chosen market, the quality of their products is vital not only to remain in line or wherever possible to exceed regulatory requirements. To ensure they remain at the forefront of their industry, the Colchester office has become the centre of excellence within the group which will now consolidate all of the international requirements into the site to create new bespoke solutions for their impressive client base.

The role will see the successful candidate heading the project department to ensure it meets its targets and supports the delivery of organisational, and strategic goals. You will work closely with the project managers to ensure projects have requirements documented and agreed to ensure that project activity meets agreed objectives. You will participate in project reviews, approvals, and gating processes to provide information to senior stakeholders in order to make business-critical decision.

Ideally, you will have vast experience in delivering or managing large scale projects within a software delivery environment through the full development lifecycle. Strong leadership skills are needed as the team will look to you for advice and seek new ways of thinking in order to reach set goals. The successful candidate will need to hold an industry recognised certification (PMP/APMP/Prince2 or equivalent) with strong stakeholder management skills as the successful candidate will be working and dealing with internal and external parties, both from a technical and business standpoint.
