|Simulation and Modelling Engineer We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Simulation and Modelling Engineer in Bristol working for a major and global defence organisation.
We are looking for individuals, experienced at working within mission planning/synthetic environments, with a track record of developing high fidelity models or simulations. This is an exciting role, offering you the opportunity to play a key part in the strategy of generic, model-based reference architectures that are subsequently embodied into leading programmes. You will act as a point of contact for Simulation and Modelling’s interactions with other teams.
Responsibilities Defining requirements for models and analysis The design and development of mathematical models Running models developed for analysis and understanding the impact of the outputs in the context of the project Verification and validation of models Developing and maintaining Architecture system (SysML) models. Evolve systems to account for new capabilities, including its logical design, key design drivers and the design patterns that characterise the variation space. Working with future concept and assessment studies, and new programmes, to provide a system design capability to the team Liaise with the Software Design and Implementation teams to coordinate the onward development of the software architecture and components. To define and agree the software requirement and review the software designs. Establish, maintain and follow generic systems processes and procedures including configuration control, requirements management, validation/verification strategies, product definition, etc. Undertake general Systems Engineering studies and investigation.
Key Skills: Simulation & Modelling - preferably on Aerospace projects Simulink, MATLAB, and Stateflow High level programming languages, e.g. FORTRAN, C/C++ Ability to produce a computer simulation from a mathematical specification Desirable: Software configuration A keen understanding of modelling processes Working within a quality process Experience in applying systems engineering practices to large hardware/software development efforts, preferably in an Aerospace and/or Defence program environment
