Job Description
iRecruit Specialist are working with a client in Bracknell. Through the use of innovative use of technology they are developing and enhancing an e-commerce solution to secure distribution of its financial products and implementing fully integrated CRM solutions.

The software engineer will be responsible for day-to-day hands-on development delivery and guiding the development team with a vision to feed into the companies 3-5 year technology plan.

Ideal Experience:

• 8-10 years of full Microsoft stack development (C#, .NET, ASP.NET, WPF, WCF and SQL Server).

• 8-10 years of experience of developing with web, web service, desktop and, server technologies.

• Proven and demonstrable history of success in high level software development.

• 3-5 years solid experience operating in an Agile environment using Application Lifecycle Management.

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering.

• 5 years T-SQL experience to include XML(XPath\XQuery).

• Web Services development (SOAP/REST).

• .NET development in C#.

• Expertise in developing data access and Web services.

• Expertise in multi-threading, design patterns and scalability.

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with strong problem solving abilities; ability to work effectively with people even under difficult circumstances.

• Holistic understanding of software architecture principles (microservice, SOA, build frameworks) combined with outstanding coding skills.

• Excel at working with peers to brainstorm, share knowledge, and collaborate on problems.

• Appreciation and experience of embedding a DevOps culture.

• Deep understanding around the Microsoft application stack and SQL development.

• Able to mentor and technically lead less experienced software engineers.

Role Responsibilities:

• Own and drive software engineering innovation with accountability for technical decisions and responsibility for technical outcomes.

• Work with development team members to understand requirements and translate them into well formulated and documented software designs, ensuring compliance with the agreed development lifecycle and operating principles.

• Work collaboratively within the broader IT community to identify processes and tasks to which ownership should be reassigned to the development function and formulate a transitional plan.

• Formulate and articulate recommendations on complex and fundamental technical issues.

• Deliver end-to-end software engineering excellence in an agile environment by the implementation of sound software engineering practice.

• Take a technical leadership role in the development and execution of software development projects to reach agreed outcomes with adherence to delivery schedules.

• Mentor and nurture a high-performing multi-disciplined software engineering team by fostering a culture of innovation, quality and continuous improvement.

• Be a key stakeholder in the Implementation of development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.

• Investigate & recommend tools, technologies and practices through research and the use of proof of concepts.

• Maintain an up to date knowledge of industry standards with an appreciation for future invocation opportunities in the development arena; apply acquired knowledge to current systems where appropriate.

• Pragmatically explain complicated technical subjects to a non-technical audience.

• Hands-on development and troubleshooting of complex development challenges.

• Consistently develop and deliver high-quality, low-defect features on schedule.

• High level of engagement with third party software suppliers.
