Technical release and systems administrator / IT Systems Administrator Gaming/Betting Organisation

Contract – £300 –£ 340– Depending on experience – London location

Our client is a Global Software Development company who specialise in Gambling solutions who are expanding their Development team. We are searching for a Release and systems administrator (CONTRACT) to join a leading organisation in Central London.

As the Technical release and systems administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the development and test teams with administration of all system and application environments. You will also be responsible for application and website release management to existing and new clients test, staging and production environments in line with standard procedures. The post holder will report to the Head of Software Delivery and will work closely with the other teams (i.e. Support teams, Development Leads and Project Managers).

Key Responsibilities

IT infrastructure administration and server support in high availability Java and web hosting environments

Release management of applications and websites on variants of Linux servers using Java, Ruby, Apache and Tomcat including database schema patches

Incident and problem management, resolving issues related to Linux infrastructure

Monitor applications, databases and infrastructure using industry standard tools, taking corrective actions and where possible pre-emptive steps to avoid such issues in future

Deploying software and performing installations of backend and frontend applications.

Release repository, source control management and branching

Management of software build and deployment systems

Create and maintain technical documentation

Identify bottlenecks and improve the release process wherever possible Carry out deployment and system upgrades accurately and efficiently for business- critical systems, sometimes out of normal office hours or on-site working directly with customer teams

You will have proven experience with Linux systems

Commercial experience of working in software development life cycles

Experience with administration and monitoring of Tomcat/Jaa/J2EE applications

Proven use of continuous deployment and build software such as Jenkins, Maven

Experience in administration of websites hosted on the LAMP/RoR stack (Apache, MySQL, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript)

Experience in system automation, provisioning, virtualization (Salt, Docker, Virtual box)
