Purpose of Job

To administer the SAP system / instances on a day to day basis.

To work with the SAP Manager to ensure that the SAP system integrity is maintained to a high level.

To work with the SAP Manager and the SAP Team to ensure that the SAP environment is robust to ensure that all transports and SAP changes are in line with best practice and follow authorisation procedures.

To ensure that all SAP development and test systems are maintained to user requirements.

To maintain high availability of the SAP and legacy systems.

To administer and implement upgrades to SAP.

To support projects on SAP as required.

To provide guidance on the SAP to company staff and customers as required.

To undertake any other reasonable request of work from the SAP Manager or Senior Management.

Principle Accountabilities

Responsible for keeping the SAP Manager informed of the status / Issue with the SAP instances.

Responsible for the day to day running of all SAP instances.

Responsible for logging all issues on the help desk.

Responsible for helping on all development projects on the SAP system.

Responsible for managing and monitoring all interfaces to and from SAP and the company systems.

Responsible for managing and monitoring the COAPS system, customer orders received electronically and the COAPS interfaces to SAP.

Responsible for administering security on the SAP and legacy Rail systems.

Responsible for ensuring that the company does not exceed the allocated SAP licences.

Responsible for managing, maintaining and monitoring the SAP company systems to ensure excellent service.

Support the SAP Manager in management of the shared services relationship.

Support the legacy Rail systems as required to ensure their high availability and to ensure that we enjoy excellent service from Atos Origin and Serco.

Responsible for problem escalation to the IT Director in the absence of the SAP Manager.

Responsible for the personal and company use of the robust solutions to issues.

Responsible for maintaining good communication and relationships with all internal and external customers to ensure visibility of the status of all project work and also of any disruptions to the SAP and legacy Rail services.

Responsible for the management and performance of the overnight schedule in SAP.

Responsible for helping to maintain SAP to PWC guide lines and ensure best practice.

Qualifications

Essential: Educated to at least Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

Desirable: Practical experience of SAP support and development Experience working in a team, interfacing directly with users Experience of large SAP Project Knowledge of CO element of SAP. Knowledge of Fl element of SAP. Knowledge of SD element of SAP. Knowledge of MM element of SAP. Knowledge of PP element of SAP. Experience of ERP squared. Experience of SAP GuiXT. Experience in a logistics IT environment.
