IT Support Technician Canterbury GBP20,000 - GBP25,000 We are working with a leading educator and they are looking to add an IT Support Technician to their team, to help them provide support to both staff and pupil users of computing services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · To assist and support teachers and support staff in their use of computing services. · To assist and support pupils in their use of computing services. · To assist in the maintenance and technical operation of the school's networks and computing hardware and software. · To maintain and support specified School Databases, and their users, in the bursary, Rec centre, IT and library. · To head up the maintenance and support of the school's Apple Mac Network servers/storage and clients Detailed responsibilities · Provision of help desk support to network users, and escalation point for 1st Line technicians · To provide technical assistance to teachers and pupils. Other detailed responsibilities · Provision of help desk support to network users, and escalation point for 1st Line technicians · To assist with servicing and repairing computers, printers and hubs. · To assist with maintenance and delivery of SCCM packages/updates/images etc · Installing and upgrading PC and MAC stations and servers. · 2nd and 3rd line fault diagnosis within Mac server systems. (And escalation to 3rd party support supplier where required) · Equipment upgrades including the replacement of disk drives and motherboards and the addition of memory and internal cards. · To participate in such rotas that are set up from time to time by the Head of IT services for the distribution of the department's workloads. · Deployment of client end software. · To provide classroom support for lessons undertaken in the computing laboratories. · Ensuring that, in the process of upgrading or fault fixing, data integrity is maintained and systems are left fully operational. · Assist with the maintenance and set up of equipment within the IT suites · Setting up the IT suites in preparation for lessons. · Maintenance, Support and Updating of IT, Rec and Bursary systems/databases as required · Some scripting and programming work · Basic knowledge of ITIL · Ensuring Mac network users are quoted and understand file storage limits/best practice file management for large photo files
