Job Description
Opportunity for an IT Hardware Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company who has invested heavily in South Wales over the last ten years. The company directly employ over 600 staff and several hundred sub-contractors in South Wales.

As the IT Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for providing 1st & 2nd line support to users, escalating problems to relevant technical resources where necessary. As more experience is gained, then there will be opportunities for getting involved in project work. Your duties will include:

* Daily checking of the service desk, ensuring all service requests are logged and resolved promptly or escalated * Providing support for hardware and software related problems/incidents * Assisting with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and registration of company hardware and software * Building PCs and laptops from clones. * Configuring mobile phones and PDAs. * Repairing and installing printers. * Providing support to various IT Projects as required.

To be successful in the IT Hardware Engineer position, you will have the following skills and experience:

* Ideally hold a HNC or above in an IT or engineering related subject * Must have some hands on experience building or repairing IT hardware, such as PC's and printers * Must be well organised and have good communication skills * Previous experience within an IT support role is desirable

In return, the IT Hardware Engineer will receive a salary between £18,000 - £20,000 in addition to £1,700 call out allowance, once training is complete. As well as a comprehensive benefits package.
